When is it "pick-perfect"?
Harvest lettuce when the leaves are young, tender, and before they start to bolt (send up a flower stalk). Typically, this is about 30-70 days after planting, depending on the variety.

How to Harvest:
-
Grasp the outer leaves of the lettuce head near the base.
-
Use your fingers to gently snap or twist the leaves off the stem.
-
For loose-leaf lettuce, pick individual leaves as needed from the outer part of the plant, allowing the inner leaves to continue growing.
Storage:
-
Store unwashed lettuce in a perforated plastic bag or a container lined with paper towels in the refrigerator crisper drawer. It will stay fresh for up to a week.
