Connecting your family to your food.

Connecting your family to your food.

Hi, friends!

*Hidden in this email is a chance to win two tickets to the Farm to Table Dinner this Sunday (11/19/23 at 5:30pm) and three tickets to the Christmas Walk & Farm Park with Photos with Santa on December 9th*

In this email you will enjoy a behind the scenes look into what we have been up to the last few weeks at Mortimer Farms.

Pruning blackberry vines is an essential aspect of maintaining a healthy and productive blackberry crop. Today, we are commencing the labor-intensive process of pruning all our blackberry vines. All the pruned material will be added to our compost pile, where it will be transformed into nutrient-rich soil.

No waste! Pumpkins are an incredible source of nutrients for cattle. Out cattle are eating the left-over pumpkins from Pumpkin fest. It is such a beautiful view when the ranch and the farm intertwine in a symbiotic relationship.

Our greater calling is to grow and raise food and care for the land. We believe in preserving and honoring the importance of agriculture. We believe that as we share our story, we are also sharing the story of Arizona and American agriculture. We believe food is the thing that connects us all. We believe it's time for the pendulum to swing back to the basics of slow food, shopping local, scratch cooking, gathering together, and buying directly from the farmer. We believe in “connecting your family to your food”.

As we approach the winter season, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of our guests! Thank you for supporting local, family-owned, small businesses. Your support means the world to us!

I spent some time in the Market today refreshing some of our displays. The vegetable displays are so beautiful! I love having vegetables during the winter in the Market - thanks to the greenhouses!

Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring about the story of your food. Thank you for supporting our family, our team, our farm, and Arizona agriculture!
